KINGMAN – More than 200 people gathered at the highly successful 76th Annual District 1 GOP Lincoln Day Dinner last week at Beale Celebrations.  The keynote speaker, Walter Blackman, Arizona’s 6th District Representative, spoke to an enthusiastic crowd as well as Paul Gosar, U.S. Representative, Doug Schuster, Mohave County Sheriff and Scott Preston, Investment Advisor at Preston Investments. In addition, many local and state officials attended including, State Senator Sonny Borrelli and State Representative Leo Biasiucci. Area solar project approved

The Interior Department has announced that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has given final approval to a new solar energy project on public lands in California. The Crimson Solar Project represents an investment of roughly $550 million and has the potential to deliver enough power to energize approximately 87,500 homes. The Record of Decision authorizes Sonoran West to construct a 350-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility with a 350-MW energy storage system and the necessary ancillary support facilities to generate and deliver power through the Southern California Edison Colorado River Substation.  “The time for a clean energy future is now….

KRMC awarded fifth consecutive “A” from Leapfrog Safety Group

KINGMAN  – Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) received an “A”gradein the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, the Leapfrog Group announced on April 29th. The distinction is KRMC’s fifth in a row, recognizing the hospital’s efforts in protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The group assigns letter grades (A-F) twice a year to all general hospitals across the country. KINGMAN – Meeting new people is hard to do for young professionals and new people coming to the Kingman area. The Kingman Young Professionals group was created to provide opportunities for young leaders to build relationships with other young professionals and to connect with the community. WARMC to close childbirth services

BULLHEAD CITY  – Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC) is discontinuing obstetrical and newborn services and will close its labor and delivery unit, effective April 30. After this date, the hospital will no longer provide inpatient labor and delivery services. Expectant mothers will continue to have local options for receiving childbirth services at the Mohave County hospitals located in Fort Mohave, Lake Havasu City and Kingman.  They will work with their obstetricians and medical staff to support an orderly transition of their patients’ non-emergent deliveries to another hospital.
