LAKE HAVASU CITY – The gathering of burros occurred on August 5 with BLM successfully gathering 94 burros to ensure public safety. However, the animals are still on Highway 95, especially at night.
Lake Havasu City board members caution the community to stay alert while on the highway in the evenings. City council approved two separate code changes to expand the density limit for the various residential zones for families along with the height limit of the Southgate district.
Presently, the zones permit for a density with four to 10 units per acre. However, with this new change, the range will expand to four to 16 units per acre for the R-3 district.
This was approved to increase maximum unit density. Fowls in backyards were also passed for accessory use for single family detached residencies.
Up to six fowls will now be allowed in the backyard of properties. The Tuesday, August 27 meeting was cancelled but the next one will be taking place on Tuesday, September 10.
