MOHAVE COUNTY – Television production will occur in north Mohave County later this month. The Board of supervisors voted Monday in support of a special use permit allowing Pilgrim Operations to film episodes of Street Outlaws for the Discovery Channel. “Isn’t Street Outlaws like speed racing or drag racing or something like that, or do I have my reality shows mixed up,” queried Supervisor Hildy Angius. Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H), has received an $849,915 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The funds will be used for a Comprehensive Opioid Recovery Center (CORC) with an Integrated Systems Approach that will serve individuals in Mohave County, Arizona. The SAMHSA grant will enable SB&H to enhance capacity and service options for Mohave County’s uninsured and underinsured populations directly addressing the county’s worsening opioid epidemic. KINGMAN – A lottery ticket thief was captured by officers as he fled a downtown Kingman convenience store early Sunday. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded at 4:45 a.m. to a report of a robbery in progress at the business in the 700 block of W. KINGMAN – A Mohave County sheriff’s deputy has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting death of a non-compliant man at his home in Golden Valley. The Mohave County attorney’s office has determined that Deputy Jose Cardenas was justified when he shot and killed Jason Matthew Henke, 42, on July 29.
