Leonard Soto Morales

Leonard Soto Morales, 75, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, with his three children and his dog by his side. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Leonard was a man defined by his strength of character, dedication to his country, and profound love for his family. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, specializing as a large engine mechanic. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to maintenance and operations within the transportation and irrigation industries. Known for his exceptional work ethic, Leonard took immense pride in everything he did. He was truly a hands-on craftsman who possessed the rare ability to fix, build, or operate absolutely anything.

Beyond his professional life, Leonard was an active and vibrant member of his community. He found great joy in the outdoors, particularly through woodworking, gardening, and coaching softball. He was widely known for his sharp sense of humor, his comforting presence as a great listener, and his unwavering reliability. Above all, Leonard was a loving, kind, and deeply respectful father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend, and coach.

He is survived by his three children: his son, Leonard Morales Jr., and wife, Stephanie; his son, Jaime Morales; and his daughter, Stella Morales. He also leaves behind his three cherished grandchildren: his grandson, Anthony Morales; his granddaughter, Sarah Morales; and his grandson, Daniel Morales (Chloe). Additionally, he is survived by his six siblings: Reuben S. Morales, John S. Norzagaray III, Michael S. Norzagaray, George S. Avena Jr., Enedina S. Avena, and Dolores N. Johnson, as well as his beloved service dog and constant companion, Joe-Joe. He is dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
