MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave College Men’s Soccer team continued its second week of the 2026 season with three games, earning wins over Paradise Valley Community College and Snow College before finishing the week against Indian Hills Community College.
The Bighorns started the week Aug. 24 with an 8-0 win over Paradise Valley Community College. Mohave kept the pressure on throughout the game, taking 32 shots compared to just one from Paradise Valley.
Lazzar Ramos, forward, scored the first goal in the 22nd minute. Vicente Villalobos, midfielder, followed with a goal six minutes later, and Pablo Pulido, forward, scored in the 33rd minute to give Mohave a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Mohave added five more goals in the second half. Luis Garcia, midfielder, scored in the 60th minute, followed by Ramos with his second goal of the game. Pulido scored twice more to finish the game with three goals, and AJ Ruiz, midfielder, scored Mohave’s final goal in the 87th minute for the 8-0 win.
The Bighorns traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa, for their next two games, beginning with Snow College on Aug. 29. Mohave took an early lead when Alan Salgado, forward, scored in the 15th minute. Ramos scored a little more than a minute later and added another goal in the 35th minute, giving the Bighorns a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Villalobos scored Mohave’s fourth and final goal in the 63rd minute. Snow College was unable to score, giving the Bighorns a 4-0 win. Chase Radford, goalkeeper, made four saves during the game, while Owen Williams, goalkeeper, finished the final minutes in goal.
Mohave returned the next morning to play Indian Hills Community College. Neither team scored during the first half, but Indian Hills scored twice early in the second half. Cy Adams, defender, put Mohave on the scoreboard in the 53rd minute with help from Oscar Salgado, midfielder, bringing the score to 2-1.
Indian Hills scored again a little more than two minutes later and went on to win the game 3-1. Radford made five saves for Mohave.
“We are excited about this weekend’s game against another ranked opponent after playing the No. 1 team in the country and getting a great result against Snow,” said Camilo Valencia, Men’s Head Coach. “The group keeps finding ways to succeed and improve every day, so we are very pleased with our process so far.”
Through the second week of the season, the Bighorns have a 3-2 overall record. Mohave scored 13 goals across the three games during the week and held its opponents scoreless in two of them.
