LAKE HAVASU CITY – Do you know the candidates currently up for those Lake Havasu City Council seats? It’s that time of year again for the duty-bound team, to invite eligible candidates for this year’s primary election.
Two recognizable faces currently serving on city council running for re-election would be Nancy Campbell and Vice Mayor Cameron Moses, the current council members who both won seats in 2021. Campbell is a businesswoman who co-owns multiple companies in Havasu, while Moses is the past president and founder of Only Orchids. Moses is also the current owner of one of Havasu’s most elegant steakhouse’s, Cha Bones.
Returning candidate David Diaz will be making a comeback to this year’s race. Bringing his previous roles to the competition such as serving on a homeowner’s association and being former vice president of a fortune 500 company, Diaz is also currently serving on Havasu’s planning and zoning commission. Diaz is well known for his continuous interactions with the residents of Lake Havasu, but he also stays focused on the issues he feels need the most attention such as the city’s budgets, infrastructures, and fiscal needs.
Chamber of Commerce Rising Star Honoree Rick Riegler will be in this year’s race as well. The real estate agent who is also currently on the board of the town’s visiting center, is focused on commerce and economic growth. Conservation of our lake and desert is key in his campaign, along with creating career opportunities for the young leaders of the community.
Owner of A+ Mail and Business Center Teri Kay Parcells has plans to bring her leadership talents to the Havasu city council. Parcells is bringing 40 years of experience in managing high profile law firms and businesses to the candidate table. Parcells’ goals for being in office is to put emphasis on better jobs, bettering workforce housing shortages, and analyzing the town’s water. Her plan would include quality and quantity of our water usage.
Morgan Braden is another candidate who is also a business owner. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Braden is a retiree of a hot air balloon business, with 38 years experience as a paramedic. Braden is eager to support more small local businesses and veterans. As a retiree, he is also focused on the senior citizens of our community who are mostly on a fixed income.
Another member on the planning and zoning team in the running is Joan Dzuro. Dzuro has over 30 years experience in the human resources industry and is also the author of the 2009 guide titled, “Starting Over Getting a Job You Love.” The book was written to help the many who lost their job during the recession to find new rewarding occupations.
