Mohave Valley man pleads guilty to conducting a chop shop

MOHAVE VALLEY – A Mohave Valley man involved in a sales enterprise involving stolen vehicles, motorcycles and quads and their parts and pieces, has entered a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Lee Kennedy, 53, pleaded guilty Friday, March 7 to conducting a chop shop.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Jennifer Brodie said an array of stolen parts and motorized two- and four-wheel transportation units in various stages of disassembly were located during an August, 2024 visit by the Mohave County Sheriff’s office on a Mohave Valley property in the 3100 block of Sagebrush Drive. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said some parts from a Polaris Predator 500 were traced to a previous theft in Havasu Heights.

Drug, theft, stolen property possession and other charges are dismissed in the plea deal. Its terms require Judge Billy Sipe to impose a 5-year prison term when Kennedy is sentenced April 7.
