KINGMAN, Ariz. – Guilty pleas have been entered for a transient engaged in a Mohave Valley crime spree. The mandatory prison plea deal for Caden Vasquez, 23, was detailed during a Sept. 8 hearing at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman.
A victim reportedly gave chase following a June 22 burglary in the area of the gravel pit in the 2800 block of Laguna Road. Vasquez allegedly abandoned the stolen vehicle which became disabled.
Deputy county attorney Leah Nelson said two cell phones found in the vehicle used by Vasquez were discovered to contain various images of child pornography.
Vasquez pleaded guilty to theft of means of transportation for the stolen vehicle. He pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor involving four of those images.
Terms of the deal require Judge Billy Sipe to order a 10- to 24-year prison term at an Oct. 5 sentencing hearing. Vasquez would serve lifetime probation once released from prison.
