Dear Editor,
In this month of September 2026 it feels as if just yesterday it rocked our nation to its core in a way that can never be forgotten for most. It was 25 years ago I was living 45 minutes the way the crow flies on the east side of the Hudson River up from New York City when the Twin Towers were hit.
It was a beautiful morning. I was getting ready for work when the news stations were flooded. A commercial airline hit a Twin Tower that we thought was just a horrific accident. But minutes later when the second tower was hit and they both collapsed like matchsticks we knew something was afoot and something seriously wrong was happening. We were under attack. It felt dark and ominous and I recall thinking this must have been what it felt like when Pearl Haror was hit. My oldest son who was a currier would go in and out of the Twin Towers regularly yet by some good fortune he had just left his job in New York days earlier. While my other son had to park his car just north of the Washington Bridge and frantically make his way on foot into the city to get his wife out who worked just blocks from the towers. Everything was in mid-lockdown and many didnít know where to go or if they would be safe.
The whole city was in chaos but with a resolve to be there for each other. Tears well up jut writing about it. Sometime later intelligence would find evidence that the Saudis funded the 9/11 attach and the victimsí families sued the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. But to no surprise they just thumbed their nost at them and the N.Y District Federal judge, and denied it.
Regardless of the horrible suffering of the 9/11 families Trump with open arms welcomed the Saudi Crown Prince of KSA into our country and the Oval Office as if he were a hero and the best of friends with us and the U.S. Trump saying, “I’ll shake his hand I don’t care where its been.” It was a slap in the face of all those who lost loved ones on 9/11 and the first responders that died from its tragic effects. Trump honoring a man so evil who had a U.S. journalist murdered and dismembered because he wrote about the Saudi Prince and his government’s crimes against humanity and funding terrorist groups. Trump calls it, but what else, a ‘hoax.’ But this is a fact the Saudis gave Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner two billion to start up a private equity firm, Affinity Partners, that goes into businesses and buys out businesses then hikes up the prices on customers including veterinarian offices and animal hospitals. Unbelievable.
And there’s no denying the Crown Prince gifted ñ what Trump calls his ‘place in the sky’ = a luxury jumbo plane that Trump so arrogantly and disrespectfully compared it to our Statue of Liberty. It ended up costing us millions to retrofit yet, still, Trump is afraid to fly it. He wanted It soooo badly like a little boy who really wants a bb gun and then when he gets it he won’t play with it because he’s afraid he’ll shoot his eye out. So even though the Saudis have made the Trump family filthy rich with gifts and business dealings they can’t be trusted regardless of how much Trump claims he and the Crown Prince are the best of friends.
