The Twelve All Starz Gymnastics team regional qualifiers attended the USAG Xcel Regional Championships in San Diego, California. This was the largest meet the west coast has ever seen with over 2,700 competitors and 183 teams all from Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah.

Head Coach Brandee Proffit stated, “The All Starz team performed amazingly, bringing a total of 35 top 10 medals back to Kingman.” Seven of the medals won were gold, silver and bronze. I am so proud of this team.”

All of the girls went into the regionals with the hope of winning or placing in the top three. A reasonable assumption is that this is the same goal that their competitors had. In light of this, the All Starz were up against a high level of competition. Nonetheless, they also saw many routines that they were confident they could out-due, and this is precisely what they did. And in the end, they were all thrilled to place.

Proffit further said regarding the high level of competition, “With over 2,700 gymnasts competing, I was absolutely thrilled with all of the top ten awards earned. It is very tough to earn a top spot. Having some girls earn the coveted gold, silver and bronze top three medals was absolutely amazing.”

The girls are not finished amazing us yet, as following the San Diego Regionals, the 26th Annual Cartoon Classic meet was held on May 10-11 in house at the All Starz academy in Kingman. The stands were filled to capacity with spectators and gymnasts of all ages to watch the team perform beyond compare. Proffit said, “I can honestly say it was by far our best event ever.”

The girls just keep working hard, as prior to this recent home meet, the team only had a week to add additional difficulty to their routines. Others were preparing to also attend the last of the meets, the AAU District Championships May 17-19 in Indian Wells California where eleven of the team members will be competing.

These girls are serious, as they train year-round with a competitive season that extends between August and May. The majority of the team gymnast train additional hours, and this is when they heavily focus on upgraded skills plus new routines for the upcoming season. The majority of the girls train two to three days per week, and a few train five days. Many of the top teams have their gymnast training 5-7 days per week.

In regard to the achievements of these girls, Proffit said, “I’m very proud we were able to score and place so high. Our gymnasts still have time to fit in other sports, school activities and family time, but do very well in gymnastics.” Proffit continued, “We work very hard in the training and selection of the skills that will be the most successful for each individual athlete.”
