In reading the article that documented the attempted Recall of Jean Bishop, published on March 1, 2021, I found myself raising an eyebrow to the comment in the first paragraph about how the ousting of Jean Bishop is over, “at least for now” as if to say that there will be another. If so, it would be a complete waste of tax payers money. Dear Editor, One problem with all Americans making a minimum of $15 an hour is that some business owners don’t make $15 an hour.  Hundreds of thousands of small business owners struggle every day to keep the lights on and the doors of their business open. The only way they can afford help is with people who are willing to work for a low wage. This is tough for all. In most cases the business owner would like to pay more and the employee needs to make more.  You can’t economically survive on $290 a week. Apartment rent can easily…

Dear Editor, Another writer argues for the Electoral College system in which she opines, “Without the Electoral college you have effectively disenfranchised the rest of the country’s voters.” The point is, with the Electoral College you have disenfranchised the majority of the voters. Government of the people, by the people, and for the people, as Abraham Lincoln so eloquently expressed at Gettsyburg, does not signify minority rule. As noted before, ratios of one elector for 700,000 people  should not be negated by an elector representing only 200,000 people in my opinion. Lloyd Dickson Seligman
