Dear Editor,
It is very disturbing to read about and to hear legislators crowing about their handing out a billion or a trillion dollars for their cause du jour. So what’s a few trillion more or less? They don’t have to pay for it, do they?
The entrenched professional politicians on both sides of the aisle carry on about just how wonderful they are at governing our country. They have callously shown their disdain for we real people who elected them to REPRESENT US.
They are casually spending money that has not even been printed yet. That they cannot possibly possess a conscience is proven almost every time they open their mouths.
They care nothing about you or me, or our kids, or our grandkids or those generations beyond.
They are dumping unholy amounts of debt on our offspring. What do you suppose your great-grandkids are going to think of our generation when they realize they are going to be forced to pay huge percentages of their income to pay and pay on an impossibly huge debt? Then to realize that incalculable debt will never be paid off?
It is time for us all to grow a spine, to stand up and go to the ballot box with righteous fury and vote out every one of them who have served two terms or more. Then we need to lobby and campaign by the thousands to force term limits on both the Senate and the House of Representatives When that has been accomplished, we need to elect true fiscal conservatives who are penny pinching, tightfisted, hard headed realists who can see the inescapable disaster awaiting us. We need to hold their feet to the fire and demand that they actually work at providing real representation of the people they are supposed to serve.
I am sick to my core, with shame, that we have allowed our government to saddle our offspring with an obligation that they will never, ever be able to pay off. This endless spending is despicable.
How do you feel about what is being done to your future family? Do you really want your grandkids paying our debt?
