Worry rarely changes anything

Dear Editor, Life presents challenges to us all and most of us understand worry. There are enough ordeals along the way of life to cause each of us to worry our heads off. However, worry will never add another day to our lives. Worry will not smooth a wrinkle, dry a tear, or eliminate disease or poverty. It will not keep someone from harm. Worry has never prevented bad news or bad things from happening.   Worry rarely changes anything except to make us tense. This usually results in sleep loss, nausea, ulcers, and chest pain. Who needs any of these? Worry…

Stop the unjust taxes now

Dear Editor, Please don’t think I am against paying taxes, because I’m not. But certain politicians seem to think taxpayers should be overwhelmed with paying tax. If you take the time to look at your bills, they read state, city, and county, in addition to the taxes you pay on food and clothes. Here’s some food for thought: with all the taxes we all pay into, why should we taxpayers have to pay extra? Day of Peace events cancelled

Dear Editor, It is with heavy heart that we share with you that due to COVID-19 again this year Kingman’s annual 9/21 International Day of Peace observance, also called World Peace Day, is cancelled. Next year, after we have all survived COVID19, we can again resume the annual 9/21 Kingman observance of this most memorable and precious of days. Until then do stay well and go in peace. Organizers of the Kingman event encourage you to take a moment of your time at noon on Sept. 21 to symbolically ring a small bell if you have one and to reflectively…

What life seems to be

Dear Editor, Life is short. The best we can do, is the best we can do. If we are doing our best, then what more can we expect from ourselves and others? Most people are doing the best they can with the information and abilities they have.   There are some things we can change and some things we can’t. Learning to adjust or adapt with what we have and who we are often takes some time and effort. We are all born some place to someone. Some of us are raised with less than others and some of us are…
