LHCPD awarded Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations. This will be for the 2020-2021 federal fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. This Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or S.T.E.P. Grant will provide the Lake Havasu City Police Department the ability to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities and aggressive driving. Knife and scissor stabbing in Kingman

KINGMAN – Police report a Las Vegas man is expected to recover after undergoing surgery following a weekend stabbing in Kingman. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded to Kingman Regional Medical Center at 8:40 p.m. Saturday after it was reported a stabbing victim was being treated for life-threatening injuries. Lawler gets 35 years for internet sex crimes

KINGMAN – A 35-year prison term was ordered Monday for a Laughlin man snared in an undercover sting operation targeting males preying upon minors for sex. Judge Doug Camacho piled on the years Monday for Jay Lawler, 46, convicted at trial of luring a minor, aggravated luring of a minor, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted sexual conduct with a minor. Kingman Shop Local campaign kicks off

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman and the Kingman Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to launch a Shop Local Kingman campaign. This campaign, paid for by the City Economic Development Department and coordinated by the Kingman Chamber of Commerce, is to encourage the community to support local, small businesses by shopping and dining locally.
