The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) encourages all deer and elk hunters to attend an upcoming workshop about Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), a fatal wildlife disease that affects the nervous system of cervid animals. A total of 10 workshops will be conducted at department regional offices. All of the workshops will include a short lecture (20 to 30 minutes), followed by an outdoor demonstration (also 20 to 30 minutes) on how to collect and submit the required lymph node tissue sampling for testing. Shuffler to be prosecuted as an adult in deadly rollover

KINGMAN – A Kingman teenager is being prosecuted as an adult and faces extensive potential prison time for a deadly traffic accident. A Mohave County Grand Jury handed up an indictment on Thursday, Aug. 3 charging Brady Shuffler, 16, with two counts of second-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault. The charges follow investigation of a high-speed April 13 traffic accident that claimed the lives of Tatum Meins, 17, and Sherene `Siri’ Walema, 15. Traffic fatalities in Arizona rose for third straight year in 2022

There were 1,294 traffic fatalities across the state last year, an increase of 8.6% compared to 2021, according to the 2022 Arizona Motor Vehicle Crash Facts report. Figures show crashes associated with inappropriate speed and speeding accounted for a greater share of deaths and injuries, providing a sobering reminder for Arizonans to avoid such unsafe driving behaviors. Pedestrian, bicyclist and motorcyclist deaths all increased last year. Overall, the 2022 traffic fatality total is the second-highest ever recorded in Arizona and only slightly behind the 1,301 deaths recorded in 2006.
