KINGMAN – A Kingman man who was wounded during an armed confrontation with local police was arraigned in Mohave County Superior Court on Thursday, Feb. 22. Andrew Romero, 39, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated assault. Judge Derek Carlisle informed the defendant he could face up to 42 years in prison if convicted of both offenses. Judge Carlisle also scheduled a March 21 pre-trial conference for Romero, who is incarcerated in the Adult Detention Center. The Virgin River Campground in the BLM Arizona Strip Field Office area has gone 100% cashless for all campsites at this popular recreation area. “For visitor convenience and to eliminate security issues related to handling and counting cash, we are going to a 100% cashless system through Recreation.gov at the Virgin River Campground,” said Randy Beckstrand, Arizona Strip Assistant Field Manager. Child abuse case closed; questions remain

KINGMAN – A teenage Kingman girl is permanently injured from a history of abuse that claimed the life of her brother and landed both of her parents, and two other adults, in prison. The girl, now 14, blinded in one eye and emotionally scarred by violence within her home, is being raised by her mother’s brother and aunt.
