Calif man takes plea in pot transport

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – A California resident has entered a plea agreement to resolve a criminal case involving a May 5 marijuana seizure in Lake Havasu City. The vehicle operated by Frank Esinoza, 26, Beaumont, was pulled over for speeding on Hwy. 95.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Melinda Bonso said about 1.6 pounds of leafy marijuana was confiscated as the vehicle was inventoried. Police also seized an assortment of infused marijuana products including cookies, edibles, vapes, oil and wax.

Espinoza pleaded guilty to a charge reduced to facilitation to transport marijuana for sale. He faces probation and no further jail time when sentenced Dec. 9.

Espinoza must also forfeit the $1,100 in cash found on his person and in his vehicle.
