KINGMAN –Lee Williams High School (LWHS) senior Wyatt Pickering won the 800-meter race and a state championship at the Arizona Division III Track and Field meet in Phoenix last weekend. The 18-year-old used a powerful kick finish to pull past the field for gold in 1:54.73. “These past few weeks I’ve been dialing in on my last 150 meters. BULLHEAD CITY – The 73rd Annual Burro BBQ went off like clockwork last weekend with hundreds of guests attending the annual event that helps kick off the summer season. The event saw massive crowds Saturday as the pavilion in Rotary Park was packed with food aficionados who came out to sample this year’s offerings.  The Bullhead City Rotary Club presented the event once again this year with sponsorship from around the Tri-State including DOT Foods, Los Matadores, Western Arizona Medical Center, Tire Pros, Anderson Ford, Swanty’s Dodge/Jeep, Smart and Final and many more. Kingman’s traveling senior softball tournament team won the Ernie Jones Memorial over the weekend in Prescott. KSS-Taco Bell breezed undefeated through the bracket at 6-0. Coach Roy Heisner presented the Most Valuable Player honor to retired Arizona State Trooper Marty Harnisch. “Trooper” put on a hitting clinic, making only two outs in the six games. KSS-Taco Bell next travels to New Mexico for the Land of Enchantment Tournament in Albuquerque in June.
