Milks plea deal pending court determination

A more lenient plea agreement is offered for one of three alleged Body Armor Bandits after the judge handling the case rejected a deal for a co-defendant because it capped prison time at 28 years. Following his June 6 nix of the plea deal for Francis Allison, 59, attorneys offered Judge Billy Sipe another plea proposal Wednesday mandating a 15-year prison sentence for co-defendant Preston Milks, 26, Kingman. Prosecutor Rod Albright contends that Milks was the least culpable of the trio who allegedly targeted businesses and residences in the Kingman area and beyond during an armed robbery spree last year….

Changes coming to Kingman EZ Recycling Program

Starting the week of June 24, the green recycling bins located around the city will be removed, centralizing recycling drop off to one location: Kingman Public Works, 3700 East Andy Devine Avenue. Richardson found guilty of manslaughter; faces up to 10.5 years

A Mohave County Superior Court jury has convicted a Golden Valley man in the shooting death of a Kingman woman. Public Defender Robin Puchek said Richardson had a right to protect his property and his person when he fired at what he presumed to be a home intruder. Orozco was delivering a child…

WAHS may oversee shelter if conditions are met

A recent decision to transition the Western Arizona Humane Society (WAHS)-managed Kingman animal shelter to an in-house Mohave county operation will be revisited during Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The reconsideration is prompted by new input from WAHS, which previously indicated it did not wish to continue running the shelter once its contract expires at the end of this month. WAHS Executive Director Patty Gilmore sent Board Chairman Hildy Angius and county manager Mike Hendrix a June 10 email indicating that the organization is interested in continuing to oversee the shelter, provided certain conditions are met. Gilmore noted that WAHS…
