Longtime Kingman attorney Bill Porter passes

His friends and family are mourning the death of longtime Kingman attorney Bill Porter. Kingman police confirm that Porter was found deceased inside his Kingman apartment at mid-morning Wednesday. Porter was 76 years old and it is believed he died of natural causes. Foul play is not suspected. Porter formerly operated the William C. Porter law office in downtown Kingman and he had a love of law and history. He was heavily committed to civic organizations and his involvements included the Arizona Historical Society, Kingman Regional Medical Center and the Mohave Museum.

USGS Aquifer Study Due in 2020

KINGMAN  – In 2017, the City of Kingman and Mohave County entered into an agreement to both equally fund a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) at the cost of $400,000. The scientific study will show estimates of the potential effects of groundwater withdrawals from the Hualapai Valley Basin using a variety of withdrawal scenarios that will be provided to the USGS by the County, City, and other partners that will assist in the long range planning and future water development. Alleged killer went to several homes following mom’s stabbing

BULLHEAD CITY – Court records indicate a Bullhead City man stabbed his mom in the chest so hard that the knife pierced through her chest. Details of the Sunday murder in the Colorado River community are laid out in a probable cause statement filed in Bullhead City Justice Court. County to fog for mosquitos

Mohave County – Mosquito surveillance conducted this week in Mohave Valley by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed the following locations that met the protocol to conduct fogging.  The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide of when to fog.  FOGGING: Adult mosquito control application will begin on Thursday evening August 15th around 8:00 pm, weather permitting.  Baron Pest Control was awarded the contract to provide fogging services within Mohave County and will be conducting the ground fogging application.  Areas in Mohave Valley to fog include:  · South of Gordon Drive to East King Street, and east and west between Mohave…
