Arizona remains CWD-free due to surveillance efforts The Arizona Game and Fish Department is asking hunters to continue doing their part to help keep Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), a neurodegenerative wildlife disease that is fatal to deer and elk, at bay. With the start of big game hunts right around the corner, all successful deer and elk hunters are encouraged to bring the head of their harvested animal — especially bucks and bulls — to any department office statewide between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fall Harvest Day is a day for family

KINGMAN – The Children’s Garden at DigIt Kingman Community Garden will present Fall Harvest Day on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Harvest Day will include educational demonstrations and games. KHAC hosts monthly dinner

KINGMAN – Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host their monthly dinner on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 4 p.m. until the food is gone. This month’s dinner will feature beef tips and noodles, fresh fruit salad, green beans with almonds, pearl onions and bacon, dinner roll and soft drink. Dessert will be provided by Harmony Hospice. Business theft foiled; reported by pawn shop

GOLDEN VALLEY – A Golden Valley woman was arrested Thursday, August 29, for her alleged involvement in theft of property worth more than $14,000. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the Mohave County Sheriff’s office began investigating August 20 when a business burglary was reported. Arriving investigators were advised that a lock had been broken off a storage building where the business was located in the 4700 block of the Oatman Highway. Tools and furniture that were engraved with the name of the business had been removed and stolen. Authorities advised area pawn shops that whoever stole the property might try to…
