Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories hosts Second Annual Togs for Tots Event

KINGMAN – —Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories is once again a drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.  The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to underprivileged children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The Toys for Tots campaign delivers a message of hope.  The goal is to motivate children, through the kindness of a new Christmas gift, to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.  The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joys of Christmas and to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(C)(3) not-for-profit public charity and is the fund raising, funding, and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. From 1991-2018, the Foundation has provided 251 million children with 548 million toys.

The local toy collection campaign for Mohave County (North) began November 1. Toy distribution normally takes place on December 23 and 24. Members of the community can drop new, unwrapped toys in a collection box positioned at Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories. Coordinators pick up the toys and they are then sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the disadvantaged children of the community.

The ultimate success of the Toys for Tots Campaign depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate new toys.  Local business leaders, such as Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories, play a key role in the program.  They allow coordinators to place collection boxes in their place of business and help coordinators arrange media exposure for Toys for Tots in the local community. Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories is now accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys. The toys will be picked up mid-December.

Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories is hosting their 2nd Annual Togs for Tots event on December 7, from noon to 4 p.m. Donors who bring a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program into Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories will receive a sealed envelope containing a gift voucher.  Gift vouchers will range in the $10 to $50 range, with a grand prize voucher of $100 up for grabs.  Gift vouchers will only be provided during the event day and time listed above; however, everyone is welcome to drop off toys at any time.  Last year’s Togs for Tots event at Thunder-Rode was a huge success.  Thunder-Rode filled over four Toys for Tots boxes for the children and, in exchange, gave away thousands of dollars in gift vouchers.
