KINGMAN – On Wednesday, August 28, members of the Kingman Police Department (KPD) Honor Guard where recognized for their contributions to the Kingman Veterans Treatment Court (VTC). The VTC has held 16 graduation ceremonies over the past four years, celebrating the graduation of 32 veterans. The KPD honor guard, with assistance of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office honor guard, has opened each ceremony with presentation of our nation’s colors. MOHAVE COUNTY – A ruling by a judge in Kingman favors Bullhead City’s position that political signs supporting a “No” vote on Proposition 415 were put up about two weeks early. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen’s denial of a request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) allows the city to enforce its statutory interpretation that some 75 signs must be taken down because they can’t legally be posted until September 5, 60 days before voters decide the ballot proposition in the general election. Grand Canyon – The Grand Canyon National Park Airport in Tusayan will be added as a free park and ride location for park visitors from Aug. 30 through Sept. 2, 2019, to alleviate some of the holiday traffic. The Grand Canyon shuttle bus will add the airport stop to its Tusayan route, which begins at 8 a.m. and runs every 15 to 20 minutes until 9:45 p.m. The shuttle bus is free; however, riders must present a valid park pass upon boarding to ride the bus.
