Routine traffic stops turns into SWAT deployment

LAKE HAVASU CITY – What began as a routine traffic stop attempt escalated to a SWAT team incident in Lake Havasu City on Friday, August 30. Grand Canyon, AZ–  Pipe installation of the Grand Canyon North Rim waterline will result in the closure of the Lodge entry road by the Grand Canyon North Rim Visitor Center Sept. 3 to 26, 2019. Expect commercial traffic detours to the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge and decreased parking opportunities.   Detours will be clearly marked and flagmen will be present to direct traffic during the daily work hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.   All traffic will need to use the Lodge and Visitor Center Parking Lot. Speed limit change on Cherry Tree Boulevard

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In a continued effort to provide more uniformed traffic flows on Boulevard and Avenue corridors in accordance with the 2005 Small Area Transportation Plan, the current 25 mph speed limit on Cherry Tree Boulevard, between McCulloch Boulevard and Cherry Tree Place, will be increased to 35 mph, effective Wednesday, September 4. Kino Avenue Waterline Project Update -New closure in effect this week-

KINGMAN – The Roosevelt intersection will be closed starting the morning of September 3, through 5 p.m. September 5. The project to install a new water transmission main on Kino Ave., between Arizona Street to the Mohave Wash, started August 12. Portions of Kino Ave. will be closed throughout the project, and detours will be in place for street closures.
