A brand new Dairy Queen opened in Kingman on Saturday, welcoming a steady stream of customers over the weekend. A Cedar City, Utah man who admitted transporting his fiancé to massage parlors to perform sex acts for pay was sentenced in Kingman on Tuesday, July 16. 41-year-old Stephen Hansen previously entered a plea agreement convicting him of the reduced charge of attempted pandering. Hansen is among eight people who were arrested in September, 2018 for various alleged involvements in human trafficking and prostitution at massage parlors operated in Lake Havasu, Bullhead City. Graff enters plea, no guaranteed prison

A no prison guaranteed plea agreement was entered July 16 for a Bullhead City woman charged in a drug case. Kristine Graff, 42, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of facilitation of possession of dangerous drugs for sale. Bullhead City police said suspected drug sales activity led to a warrant based search of the home of Graff’s former boyfriend Michael Wain, 51. The August 3, 2017 search of the residence at 3169 Locust Boulevard prompted the seizure of three grams of heroin, a loaded handgun and numerous drug paraphernalia items. Haviland Rest Area reopens along I-40 after $3.6 million in renovations

Both east- and westbound facilities west of Kingman are open The Haviland Rest Area along Interstate 40 west of Kingman has reopened after $3.6 million in improvements, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The popular rest stop, which is located at milepost 23 about 30 miles west of Kingman, has upgraded restrooms, ramadas, vendor kiosks and utility infrastructure. New well equipment and a water transmission line were also part of the upgrades. Septic tanks and sewer lines were also replaced. Movie night at KHAC set

KINGMAN – Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host their monthly movie night on Friday, August 23 at 6 p.m. This month’s feature is “To Have and Have Not” from 1944, starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and Walter Brennan. Steve Conn will provide historical and behind-the-scenes commentary before the movie starts. Cost is $2 per person donation. Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.
