MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County has made history by becoming the first local jurisdiction in the State of Arizona to declare itself a Second Amendment Sanctuary. Mohave County Supervisors voted 5-0 Monday, November 4, approving the Second Amendment Sanctuary County Resolution proposed by Board Chairman Hildy Angius. Angius expressed hope that other Arizona counties will adopt similar resolutions, as have scores of other counties and cities across the nation. BULLHEAD CITY – At approximately 11:15 a.m, Friday morning, Nov. 8, Bullhead City Fire Department (BCFD) units were dispatched for a bedroom on fire at a residence located on De Angelis Ave. All occupants were reported to be out of the home, but two pets were believed to be inside still. E761 arrived first on scene and reported a working fire in a rear bedroom. Crews quickly located and extinguished the fire, which was contained in a master bath and bedroom. KINGMAN – The Soroptimist International of Kingman will be hosting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a free book-gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five. There will be a kick-off event on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingman Elks Lodge, 900 Gates Ave. This will be an open house where parents and grandparents will have an opportunity to sign up and register their children for the free program.
