WIKIEUP – Late Friday morning, Dec. 6, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a 57-year-old man had become stranded in his four-wheel drive truck while trying to cross the Big Sandy River. Search and Rescue was activated, and swift water teams responded to his location. While enroute, he managed to self-rescue to the shore he had entered on. The Big Sandy River is one of several water ways in Mohave County that continue to run with large amounts of water for days, if not weeks, after a rainstorm has passed. KINGMAN – Soroptimist International of Kingman and Kingman Elks Lodge 468 teamed up on November 24 to kick off the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book program in Kingman. The program is headed locally by Kingman Elks Lodge chair and trustee Nan Chrimes, Soroptimist president Kathy Hopper, and Soroptimist co-chair Colleen Kirby.
