Mussel eradication research continues

$755,800 awarded to Biomilab The Bureau of Reclamation has signed a $755,800 cooperative agreement with Biomilab LLC to develop a novel technique to control invasive quagga and zebra mussels. Biomilab is pursuing this goal using cutting-edge methods of cell culture, genetic engineering and genomic modification. Biomilab received the only full award in Reclamation’s Eradication of Invasive Mussels in Open Water Prize Competition in 2018. The prize competition was a theoretical challenge and sought innovative solutions to eradicate invasive quagga and zebra mussels from large reservoirs, lakes and rivers in a cost-effective and environmentally sound manner. KINGMAN – The right inside lane will be closed to motorists heading west at the intersection of Beale Street and Grandview Avenue for the construction of curb ramps for the Andy Devine ADA improvements project. The right inside lane will also be closed at this intersection to vehicles travelling south bound on Grandview Avenue. Remains identified as missing couple

NORTH MOHAVE COUNTY – Positive identification has been made involving a second set of human remains in what began as a missing persons investigation in north Mohave County. It was January 2018 when the Mohave County Sheriff’s office began checking into the disappearance of David and Susan McFalls, both 62. The McFalls had homes in Littlefield as well as in West Jordan, Utah. Early court records indicated the sheriff’s office was conducting a possible murder investigation, though the agency later labeled it as a death investigation.
