MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith could face the first ballot box challenge of his political career this year. One of Smith’s former employees, Bryan Whitney, visited the county elections office on Friday, February 7, declaring his intent to run for county attorney. Whitney currently heads up a Kingman-based private law practice. He did not respond to initial requests to discuss his prospective candidacy. Northern Ave crash may have been due to medical episode

KINGMAN – A heavy-duty pickup truck left a field of debris when it barreled along Northern Avenue in north Kingman and crashed through a business at Van Nuys Rd., Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Four Lake Havasu City residents have been arrested following a multiple-month investigation of suspected drug sale activity at a home in the 1600 block of Avalon Avenue. A search of the residence was conducted Tuesday, February 11. “Detectives along with the assistance of the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s newest K-9 ‘Rocky,’ located a usable amount of methamphetamine, a usable amount of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, in addition to several firearms,” said police spokesman Chris Angus.
