KMS Band brings home awards

Kingman Middle School band students show off their awards received from the Arizona Music Educators Association’s Northern Junior High Solo & Ensemble Festival held on February 29, at Prescott Mile High Middle School. Twenty-nine KMS musicians performed solos, duets and trios earning top ratings during the annual competition involving nearly 300 middle school musicians from across northern Arizona. The musical Bobcats brought back 14 Division I – Superior ratings and four Division II – Excellent ratings out of a five-rating scale. Adjudicators assessed students’ musicianship, stage presence, and technical accuracy in pitch, rhythm, technique, interpretation, and artistry.

Mohave County Public Health Director meets with mayors, city managers

MOHAVE COUNTY – The three mayors and three city managers from Bullhead City, Kingman and Lake Havasu City met Tuesday, March 10 with Mohave County Public Health Director Denise Burley and Mohave County Epidemiologist Anna Scherzer to discuss the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease). Burley told Mayors Tom Brady, Cal Sheehy and Jen Miles along with City Managers Toby Cotter, Jess Knudson and Ron Foggin there are no confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in Mohave County. The Home Rule option has been approved every 4 years by voters since 1988. When it expires in 2023 staff recommends replacing it with a Permanent Base Adjustment. Gun & Knife Show slated

KINGMAN – Pioneer Country Events will be hosting a Gun & Knife, Coins & Collectibles Show on Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15 at Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd. Hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food vendors will be on site.
