Local businesses donate to local COVID-19 response

KINGMAN – As health systems nationwide face a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), local businesses have taken action to aid Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) in preparation for COVID-19 in our community. The following businesses generously donated their supplies, including several cases of N95 masks to KRMC: American Boiler Services Independent Electric Supply Grace Neal Preschool An N95 respirator is a mask designed to fit very close to the face to filter airborne particles. KINGMAN – As the City of Kingman navigates its way through the new territory of a worldwide pandemic, and how they best communicate important information to their residents, they have created a webpage with information that may be a “one-stop-shop” for community members. Man who stabbed roommate to death may not be competent to stand trial

KINGMAN – A plea agreement was stalled during a recent sentencing hearing when Judge Doug Camacho instead decided that the Bullhead City defendant should first undergo a full-blown mental health evaluation. Ethan Nelson, 29, had undergone an initial assessment but he will now get the more extensive evaluation under the Rule 11 provision that will determine if he is legally competent to stand trial. “Obviously your Honor, he is seriously mentally ill,” defense attorney George Hibbeler said during the March 18 hearing before Judge Doug Camacho in Kingman. Additional Lake Havasu City cancellations

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In response to COVID-19 concerns, and based on discussions with and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the office of Governor Doug Ducey, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Mohave County Public Health Department, all City events, programs, and activities are canceled, including the Vetsgiving Brunch scheduled for March 29, and the Coffee with the Mayor and City Manager scheduled Friday, April 3. PHOENIX  — Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has announced the launch of a new statewide COVID-19 Hotline through $2 million in funding provided by the Arizona Department of Economic Security. The hotline is administered by 2-1-1 Arizona and the Crisis Response Network and will offer an entry point to field questions and concerns from Arizona residents about COVID-19.
