SALT LAKE CITY – From May 1 through August 31, the Department of the Interior will conduct a Macroinvertebrate Production Flow at Glen Canyon Dam. This experiment, also known as a Bug Flow, aims to improve egg-laying conditions for aquatic insects, which are the primary food source for endangered and native fish in the Colorado River. This is the third consecutive year for the Bug Flow under the Glen Canyon Dam Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan. KINGMAN – A Kingman woman was killed because she already had custody of one of her daughter’s children and threatened to take custody of her unborn son. Admissions defendants made in the murder of Shawn Vanover, 62, were detailed Wednesday in Mohave County Superior Court. Mark Baldonado, 32, pleaded guilty to first degree murder. He must serve at least 25 years in prison when sentenced June 5. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to inform the community of a scam that has increased in popularity recently. Over the course of six weeks, they have received four calls of citizens being scammed out of money after attempting to purchase an animal over the internet. Three of these scams have taken place in the last two weeks. The victims all claim they attempted to purchase a pet (two dog incidents and two cat incidents) on various pet adoption websites across the country.
