Watch the Kingman Visitor Center’s entry sign inaugural lighting via live stream on May 20 KINGMAN – The Kingman Visitor Center has a new monument sign, like a pin in the ground letting visitors know they’ve arrived in Kingman, the Heart of Historic Route 66. An inaugural lighting will be held virtually on May 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and everyone can join by visiting the Facebook page @GoKingman. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a motion Thursday afternoon, May 7, recommending the county open up according to CDC guidelines on Monday, May 11.  This excludes three separate authorities within the county – the libraries, the courts, and the offices of elected officials, but, it was recommended that all county entities follow through on the same date. The new measure was initiated to end restrictions that have occurred in the county because of COVID-19.  It follows the governor’s order to reopen most of the state and its businesses on Monday, May 11. MOHAVE COUNTY – Sunday afternoon, May 10, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of five COVID-19 positive cases in Mohave County and a COVID-19 related death. The death is in the Kingman service area and is of a person who is 86+.  It’s a previously identified case and is linked to another confirmed case. Republican district office to re-open

KINGMAN – On Monday, May 11th, the Mohave County Republican Party’s District 1 office will re-open their office at 2116 Stockton Hill Rd, Suite B. Even though political activity is Constitutionally protected as “essential” free speech, the office was closed for several weeks.  With restrictions originally issued by Governor Ducey, a number of people were concerned with the Coronavirus, choosing to shelter in place.
