Veterans softball league starts Sept. 30

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Come out and show your support for local veterans at the Echo Band of Brothers softball grand opening at SARA Park on Saturday, Sept. 30. It’s all thanks to the Havasu Youth Advisory Council (HYAC). HYAC is an organization that is dedicated to helping youths explore their dreams and ambitions. It’s also an organization that gives back to the community through local projects. Advisor of HYAC Jerri Bracamonte, approached Echo Vets Band of Brothers about forming a softball league for veterans. Detectives honored 9/11

Detective Chaun Williams with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office once again participated in the 9/11 Tower Challenge, which is an annual event honoring the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001. This event was held at the Northern Arizona University campus in Flagstaff on Sept. 11. This is Detective Williams’ fifth time participating in this annual event. Detective Williams says he was “privileged and honored to climb for F.D.N.Y James A. Giberson, 43, of Ladder 35.” Giberson was a loving husband and father of three daughters.
