Lake Mead officials announce area closure  

BOULDER CITY, Nev.– Based on high levels of fecal bacteria in Arizona Hot Springs, the  following park areas and facilities are closed, effective immediately, until further notice: Arizona  Hot Springs Trail, Arizona Hot Springs, and the White Rock Canyon parking lot on Highway 93.    Officials are taking corrective action to improve water quality over the next several days. Lake Mead is to conduct a prescribed burn on November 6  

BOULDER CITY, Nev.– The National Park Service will conduct two prescribed burns near  Willow Beach, Arizona, on Monday, November 6. The first burn pile is approximately 1/4-mile  northeast of the employee housing, near Willow Beach Fish Hatchery. The second burn pile is  200 yards up the Jumbo Wash access road, south of Willow Beach Ranger Station. The roads  adjacent to the piles may experience short-term impacts, but closures are not expected.  This activity aims to eliminate hazardous combustible material generated and piled during the  annual cutting and thinning projects conducted in the area. KINGMAN – The public is invited to the Mohave Republican Forum (MRF) meeting on Wednesday, November 8, at 5:30 p.m. with Mohave County Sheriff candidates, incumbent Doug Schuster and Mike Gannuscio.
