LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Pickleball Jingle tournament had everyone smiling Tuesday, Dec. 12 as the Lake Havasu Pickleball Association (LHCPBA) served their way into giving back to those in need. LHCPBA was created to support the growing interest in the pickleball sport in Lake Havasu.
As a group, they organize clinics, drills, and charity tournaments. LHCPBA works regularly with the city to coordinate developments for pickleball facilities.
In February 2023, the association was successful in completing four additional courts in Dick Samp Memorial Park, making it the 16-court complex that it is today.
This was LHCPBA’s third jingle committee fundraiser. The Pickleball Charity Round Robin reserved eight courts with all games based on skill level.
Registration fees for pickleball members and participants were $20 per person. All proceeds went directly to New Horizons Center.
New Horizons Center is a local charity that provides permanently disabled adults with resources like vocational training programs, adult residential facilities, community engagement, and much more. LHCPBA President Janie Morris was excited about the opportunity of giving back to another nonprofit this year.
“I love the fun that the members and participants bring to the game and that we are able to support organizations like New Horizons Center,” Morris said.
