Weekend of festive fun kicks up Havasu holiday spirits

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In the famous words of Sammy Davis Jr., ‘It’s Christmas Time all Over the World’ and last weekend, Lake Havasu was no exception. Three days were filled with nonstop festive activities.  

The return of New Hope Calvary Church’s 22nd Annual Live Drive Through Nativity took place on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 at Calvary Baptists Church’s North Campus. Decades later, the church’s yearly event is still going strong. Members of the congregation begin searching for the needed props as early as August to ensure that everything is just right for viewers.

Children spent up to an hour and a half with Santa

KINGMAN – Children got long-lived, personal time with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the Kingman Parks and Recreation Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7. The Breakfast with Santa Event used to take place annually at the old Golden Coral until the restaurant closed earlier this year. Kingman Parks and Recreation held the breakfast at the Parks and Rec community center.

Each ticket cost $10, and for four people, the cost was $35. Guests were fed breakfast buffet-style, and sponsors such as Dunkin Donuts, Smiths, and Starbucks donated breakfast items to the event.

Mingle-Jingle Christmas Bazaar and Street of Lights winners announced

KINGMAN – Businesses and Kingman communities gathered for one of the biggest downtown Kingman events of the year. An estimated 15,000 residents enjoyed beautiful Christmas lights and floats, food trucks, booths, and so much more on Saturday, December 9.For the past couple of years, Everything Kingman, Kingman’s Mobile app, has been holding a People’s Choice voting poll for the best floats and lights of the Street of Lights Music Festival.

Christmas concert set for Dec. 21

KINGMAN – The Mohave Community Orchestra and Mohave Community Choir will be having their annual Christmas concert on December 21, at 3 p.m. at College Park Community Center at 1990 Jagerson Ave.  Doors will be open at 2:30 p.m. and tickets are by donation.
