Final Journey nonprofit to host benefit bash in Havasu

elder care

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Healthcare nonprofit Final Journey has been making strides in Lake Havasu to raise funds for a growing need.

When a loved one faced with a terminal illness is receiving treatment far away, commutes to visitations can become quite the challenge for family and friends.

For the past year, the organization has been working with local businesses willing to participate in the team’s efforts by giving a percentage of their revenue to support Final Journy’s goals. The group was originally founded by local Havasu nurse Charles Perkins.

With his thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry and hospice, Perkins witnessed the financial inabilities many faced when trying to say their final farewells to relatives placed in distant healthcare facilities. With the assistance of like minded peers, Perkins launched Final Journey.

This upcoming weekend, the nonprofit will be amongst the Lake Havasu community spreading the word around about their services at a public benefit bash.  The gathering will include a 50/50 raffle drawing, auction, various vendors, food, drinks, and gun raffle. Live music will be provided by Mudfish and tickets can be purchased now for just twenty dollars by visiting https://finaljourneyfoundation.org/store. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25.  Final Journey’s Benefit Bash will be taking place on Saturday, May 10 at London Bridge Beach Park.

With the successful outcomes of their many charity events, the health service team takes nominations from end of care hospitals giving families the needed funds for transportation, travel, and other supportive accommodations. Not just the given donations make this possible, but so does the government and private grants.

Final Journey wants to make sure that families get the chance at seeing their beloved family members before journeying to the next world, and creating memories to last a lifetime.
