Brubaker graduates from basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Megan C. Brubaker graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Brubaker is the daughter of Grant and Rosalia Brubaker of Lake Havasu. She is a 2018 graduate of Lake Havasu High School.

Safety concerns addressed at workshop Mohave County Sheriff’s office operations were a major focus of the budget workshop the Board of Supervisors conducted on Friday, April 17. Sheriff Doug Schuster repeated many points previously made to demonstrate need of additional funding. “We are seriously understaffed. Finding of No Significant Impact signed for the Transcanyon Water Distribution Pipeline project in Grand Canyon National Park

May 8, the National Park Service finalized a plan to provide a reliable water delivery system, improve water quality, and meet water supply needs at the South Rim and in the Cross Canyon Corridor in Grand Canyon National Park.  “The pipeline plays a critical role in supporting park operations and supplies all potable water to the park’s South Rim and Cross Canyon Corridor,” said Kristine Provenzano, National Park Service manager for the project. Rising temperatures and longer days mean spring is here and newborn wildlife are likely exploring the world around them. The Arizona Game and Fish Department understands the public’s desire to help seemingly “abandoned” animals such as baby birds and bunnies; however, the department reminds people to refuse the urge to “rescue” wildlife and to please leave baby wildlife alone.
