Man killed on SR 68 in collision

A Kingman man was fatally injured when the Buick sedan he was operating pulled out in front of an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck on State Route 68 Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). Agency spokesman Bart Graves said John Gutierrez, 81, was dead at the scene of the crash.

Officers responded at 11:06 a.m. and determined that the sedan was on Colorado Road and failed to stop before entering the westbound lanes of the highway. Graves said the pickup truck t-boned the driver’s side of the sedan.

Graves said a passenger in the sedan sustained non life threatening injuries and that the driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
