Ashley Wood promoted to United Way President/CEO

MOHAVE COUNTY – Ashley Wood has been promoted to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of River Cities United Way.  Wood has served with the organization since 2010, previously as United Way’s Community Impact Director. This position opened after former President/CEO Lyn Demaret left the organization February 28 in a career move with Mohave Community College as Director of College Advancement, tasked with overseeing the MCC Foundation.

Spring planting workshop planned

KINGMAN – The Kingman area Master Gardeners will be hosting a spring planting workshop at the DigIt Kingman Community Garden, 2301 Lillie Ave. in Kingman on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Topics will include summer vegetables, flowers for pollinators, crop rotation, cover crops, and irrigation.  This workshop is free to the public.  For more information, call the University of Arizona Mohave County Cooperative Extension Office at 928-753-3788.

Boaters, watercraft users urged to ‘Spring Aboard’ with boating safety course

Arizona’s boating season is on the horizon and in preparation, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) and boating safety advocates nationwide are urging boaters to #KeepYourEdge by enrolling in a boating education course during the Spring Aboard campaign. Spring Aboard is a national campaign that runs from March 17 to 23 and encourages boaters to protect themselves and their passengers by taking a safety course before stepping onto a boat or watercraft.
