LHCPD awarded Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $30,000.00 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations. This will be for the 2023-2024 federal fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. This Selective Traffic Enforcement Program or S.T.E.P. Grant will provide the Lake Havasu City Police Department the ability to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities with the use of directional radar devices.  The goal is to reduce the number of speeding-related crashes, traffic…

Kingman updating its general plan

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is working to update its general plan as Arizona law requires every 10 years. Kingman’s last general plan was approved by voters in 2014 and the city preparing for a new general plan to be approved at the ballot box next fall. KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $34,502 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement. The grant funds will be used to pay for officer’s overtime costs for enhanced targeted DUI and impaired driving enforcement throughout the City of Kingman from October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024. Paramedic lauded for life-saving efforts at LHC council meeting

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Paramedic William Bill Weber was awarded the American Ambulance Association Star of Life at the Oct. 24 Lake Havasu City Council meeting. Last November, Weber noticed an unusual light coming from the Desert Hills community, and acted quickly as bystanders advised that there were people still inside a burning structure there.   Weber evacuated four people, saving their lives. He is only one of three of the River Medical team to obtain this award.
