Fieldhouse ribbon cutting delayed

BULLHEAD CITY – Opening ceremonies for the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse have been temporarily delayed so that contractors and subcontractors can complete several outstanding projects. New dates for the public ribbon cutting and a separate reception for sponsors will be chosen shortly to avoid conflicting with other community events already scheduled, according to officials with the Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD).  CORE Construction is building the Fieldhouse for CRUHSD. “We’ve worked very hard with our partners and the community for the Fieldhouse to be a showcase,” said CRUHSD governing board president Lori Crampton.  “The work that remains to…

Hairston completes International Professional Designation Process Battalion Chief

Kingman Fire Department Battalion Chief Adrian Hairston has successfully completed the process that awards the professional designation of “Chief Fire Officer” (CFO). The Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC) met on February 5, to confer the designation. Battalion Chief Hairston becomes one of only 1,344 CFOs worldwide. The designation program is a voluntary program designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate their excellence in seven measured components including experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement and technical competence. Chief Justice Scott Bales to participate in ground-breaking ceremony for new Superior Court building

KINGMAN – A ground-breaking ceremony for a new Superior Court building will be held on Monday, March 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot east of the Historic Courthouse, 401 East Spring Street.  Chief Justice Scott Bales of the Arizona Supreme Court will attend and participate in the ceremony.   Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Hildy Angius, will also be participating in the ground-breaking ceremony.  The event is open to members of the public and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to arrive by 1:45 p.m. as seating will be limited.   Mohave County Presiding Judge Charles W. $6 million sheriff’s substation proposed to Board of Supervisors

MOHAVE COUNTY – The senior member of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors is proposing a new government facility about 20 miles north of Lake Havasu City. District 3 Supervisor Buster Johnson is exploring the possibility of constructing and operating a sheriff’s office substation in the vicinity of the Interstate 40-Highway 95 interchange. In addition to sheriff’s office functions, the substation would also serve as home to animal control operations and a medical examiner’s office. Lingenfelter files suit against Robinson; requests judge order Robinson to remove malicious FaceBook posts

Kingman Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter has filed a lawsuit against Steve Robinson, the Golden Valley resident who has been working to try to recall him from office. Lingenfelter filed the defamation and libel action naming Robinson as the defendant in Mohave County Superior Court on Feb. 5. Lingenfelter contends Robinson damaged his reputation as a businessman and an elected official with erroneous Facebook (FB) posts. Harrison Properties continues search for local DES base

The company asked Mohave County about using some of its nearby property to develop a 76 space parking area for a portion of the DES workforce. The proposed parking area is located on the north end of a 25 acre strip of county-owned property extending north from the library along Burbank St. toward Airway Ave. Supervisor Gary Watson expressed reservation about such use, given the perceived value of the property as well as the City of Kingman’s interest in using it for soccer fields or possibly a lake.
