Two companies are partnering in development and operation of a $3-billion renewable energy data center about 12 miles south of Kingman. Solar panels are already arriving for assembly at the 717 acre site off of Interstate 40. Pegasus Group Holdings, a technology infrastructure corporation that develops renewable energy projects, today announced that it has selected Mohave County, Arizona for the development of its new $3 billion, 340 Megawatt solar powered data center. The Pegasus Group Holdings project, in partnership with Plus Minus Power (PMP), will operate a solar field nicknamed “The Hive”. The Mohave Community College Governing Board will meet on June 13 to vote on the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget. “The budget is balanced, with zero debt, and the vast majority will continue to be dedicated to instruction and student support,” said Interim MCC President Dr. Diana Stithem. UniSource Energy Services electric customers will enjoy summer bill savings that average more than $21 per month thanks to reduced natural gas and power prices. The Arizona Corporation Commission approved UniSource’s request to apply an energy cost credit of 1.85 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to its electric bills from June 1 to Sept. 30. A new National Park Service report shows that 7.6 million visitors to Lake Mead National Recreation Area in 2018 spent an estimated $336 million in local gateway communities while visiting the park. These expenditures supported a total of 3,990 jobs, $149 million in labor income, $247 million in value added and $397 million in economic output in local gateway economies surrounding Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The peer-reviewed visitor spending analysis was conducted by economists Catherine Cullinane Thomas and Egan Cornachione of the U.S. Geological Survey and Lynne Koontz of the National Park Service.
