Bullhead city is seeing a building boom

Bullhead City continues to enjoy healthy economic development activity. City Manager Toby Cotter delivered that message during the July 16 council meeting.

Cotter said a mix of building activity brings a huge impact to property tax rolls.

“Just in the past 20 months we’ve added $175-million in valuation in this community,” Cotter said. “That’s a big number for this county and this city.”

Cotter said the numbers reflect healthy, varied development.

“From June to June we had 114 commercial permits, 208 new single family homes, 245 accessory structures, 11 new multi-family homes, all together about 1,500 permits here in Bullhead City,” Cotter said. “Our staff is keeping very busy with our permitting and the building in the community.”

Cotter added that the development activity will continue into next year. He said new McDonalds, Burger King and Dutch Brothers stores are in the works. He said a four story hotel and a 57 bed homeless shelter that are underway should be completed by next February.
