Still waiting for county Facebook launch

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County still does not have a Facebook page though county manager Sam Elters told the board early last September that it would be launched in a couple of weeks. So, what happened? “We got overwhelmed with COVID-19, the vaccination campaign and all of these things,” Elters said. Bishop recall flops

MOHAVE COUNTY – The proposed recall of District 4 Mohave County Sup Jean Bishop has ended quietly. Robert Hall, owner of Great American Pizza in Golden Valley, did not submit petitions by the Feb. 24 deadline so his campaign to oust Bishop from office by recall is over, at least for now. Hall pulled papers last Oct. and he needed 2,998 valid signatures to advance the recall. Hall has complained for months that Bishop directed enforcement heat on his business for coronavirus compliance issues. Bishop denied any involvement in regulatory enforcement. She said she is grateful that the recall window has closed….

We can work with customers through phone calls and in person,” Haines said. “All of the operations are impacted. Some can be done manually; some cannot be done at all…We cannot access systems internally or externally.” Municipal Court operations are not affected by the breach. Haines said it appears the cyber-attack strictly involves the…

WL Nugent Cancer Center uses new treatment device for safer breast radiation

KINGMAN – KRMC’s WL Nugent Cancer Center has begun using a special device called a prone breast board for radiation treatment of breast cancer. With this board, patients who need radiation treatment of the breast(s) can lie in a prone position facing down, rather than in a supine position facing upward. This allows for a more precisely targeted treatment – delivering less radiation to healthy tissues and organs surrounding the cancer, says Dr. Michael Payne, radiation oncologist at WL Nugent Cancer Center.  “The board allows us to further protect the heart and lungs of patients who need breast radiation, which decreases the…
