BULLHEAD CITY – The City of Bullhead City’s City Clerk’s Department is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering to serve on the Bullhead City Board of Appeals. There are five available positions on this Board.   The Bullhead City Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate materials and construction methods and provides a reasonable interpretation of the International Building Code.This Board meets infrequently on an as-needed basis and is comprised of five members appointed by the City Council for two-year terms. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman and hired consultant Upfront Planning & Entitlement are working to craft an updated general plan that will be placed on the November general election ballot. Community Development manager Sean Osterman said state law requires Arizona cities each decade to update general plans that serve as a tool and guide for development within a community. KINGMAN – The new year will be an exciting one for drivers who use US 93 between the Phoenix area and Kingman as the Arizona Department of Transportation advances one major project to increase capacity and starts another. A current US 93 widening project near Wickenburg is at 50% completion. And by summer, one of the largest US 93 improvement projects in recent years will kick off in west Kingman as work starts to construct an interchange that will provide a free-flowing connection between US 93 and Interstate 40. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County is expected to receive approximately $812,740 in FY2024 Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account (RA). Mohave County also intends to apply for $500,000 in FY2024 and FY2025 competitive CDBG funds from the State Special Project (SSP) account. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need.
