Becky Fawson will be Kingman Chamber of Commerce CEO

A well-known local woman who with a long history of involvement in civic groups has agreed to serve as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce. Becky Fawson will retire as supervisor of the Mohave County Legal Defender’s Office (LDO).

Fawson will work both jobs part time before transitioning to full time with the Chamber on June 8.

“The Chamber is very excited to have found the perfect fit with a local community-minded professional who can move our Chamber forward in promoting business through education, partnerships and networking,” said Chamber Board Chairman Cherish Sammeli. “Becky has the skills, knowledge, and relationships to help lead our Chamber to the next level. Our goal is to unite the business community and advance the Kingman community as a whole –Becky is the perfect individual to help the Chamber do both.”

Fawson says there’s some heartache leaving the LDO after 27 years, but that she is very excited to embrace a new challenge to promote community betterment.

“I think Kingman is the greatest place on earth. I absolutely love living here and I want people to see the good stuff and enjoy it,” Fawson said. “I want young people to stay here. Go get your education and come back here and enjoy raising your family where you grew up.”

Fawson said she’ll work to get the Chamber more involved and engaged in community issues and affairs.
