Dear Editor, Actor Chadwick Boseman recently died after a four-year battle with colon cancer. He was 43. Boseman had starred in the blockbuster Marvel superhero franchise movie Black Panther rising to stardom. He played Jackie Robinson in the movie 42. He also played James Brown in Get on Up and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall. Boseman had received international accolades for his movie roles. He was young, handsome, and very talented. MOHAVE VALLEY – Mosquito surveillance that was conducted this week in Mohave Valley by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed the following locations meet the protocol to conduct fogging. The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide regarding when to fog. Reclamation lowers Lake Mohave water level to aid with annual razorback sucker harvest

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — The Bureau of Reclamation will begin lowering water levels in Lake Mohave on September 1 to aid in harvesting razorback suckers (Xyrauchen texanus) from lakeside rearing ponds. The fish is an endangered species native to the Colorado River. The drawdown is part of annual river operations which are timed to coincide with conservation activities for the fish. Murder arrest in Bullhead City following shooting

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man has been jailed for first degree murder in the shooting death of his grandmother’s best friend. Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the victim Katherine Louise Humula, 74, was rushed to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center at 3:40 p.m. Sunday following the shooting in the 1100 block of Zircon. Humula died Sunday evening after she was flown to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of her injuries.
