Drug courier takes prison deal

BULLHEAD CITY – A drug mule from Bullhead City pleaded guilty and went straight to jail Tuesday, willfully skipping the 30-day period that usually elapses before sentencing. Amanda Boone, 37, told Mohave County judge Doug Camacho she prefers to start serving time to get it over with as soon as possible. Judge Camacho imposed the five-year prison term mandated in the plea agreement. Several charges in two criminal cases were dismissed in exchange for Boone’s conviction on a transportation of danger drugs for sale charge. Unrelated assaults keep officers busy

A Fort Mohave man’s assault of a woman and a California man’s unrelated attack of a detention officer are detailed in a Thursday news release from the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies responded to a disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of S. Lynn Dr., at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.  “Multiple reporting parties advised that neighbors were outside yelling and fighting,” Mortensen said.
